Earlier this month, Akshar Pawar, Founding Member- Strategy & New Initiatives of Media Hermits represented Media Hermits at TIME 2025, hosted by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). As someone deeply involved in curating memorable experiences for brands, the journey to Thailand was a deep dive into the future of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and a chance to reimagine what meaningful engagement can look like.
TCEB is Thailand’s official government agency under the Office of the Prime Minister, dedicated to positioning the country as a global leader in business events. Since 2004, TCEB has been instrumental in driving economic growth and shaping the MICE sector through innovation, sustainability, and local empowerment. Their mission is to not only promote Thailand’s world-class infrastructure and hospitality but also introduce planners to hidden gems and emerging regions beyond the typical MICE hotspots.
TIME (Thailand Incentive and Meeting Exchange) is one of TCEB’s flagship initiatives, a dynamic platform built around Knowledge Exchange, Business Matching, and Experiential Discovery. This year’s edition focused on showcasing lesser-known MICE regions like Hua Hin, blending tradition, wellness, and culture into unique event-ready offerings.
This wasn’t just a familiarisation trip, it was a masterclass in immersive hospitality design. We visited offbeat venues tucked into serene landscapes, explored wellness-focused escapes, and engaged in culturally grounded event formats that went far beyond standard conference setups.
There was a clear emphasis on storytelling, sustainability, and soul , three things we at Media Hermits deeply value while designing branded experiences. Every detail, from the way meals were served to the architecture of meeting spaces, contributed to an environment that made meaningful connections feel natural and easy.
Meeting local suppliers, artisans, and industry leaders added an invaluable layer to the experience. Thailand's ability to seamlessly blend modern innovation with traditional warmth sets a gold standard in how events can feel both professional and personal. It’s this emotional intelligence in execution that left a lasting impression on me.
